Exact Layout vs Editable OCR

Exact Layout: each PDF page is rendered and inserted into Word as an image. This is the reliable choice when the source is scanned, contains complex tables, signatures, columns or unusual fonts.

Editable OCR: scanned pages are rendered and recognized with OCR. The resulting text can be edited in Word, but exact PDF positioning, tables and special fonts cannot always be reproduced.
